Interior
Both the Ascent and Pilot offer similar interior
dimensions, with the Subaru taking a slight edge in cargo capacity (86 cubic
feet to 83.8 cubic feet. However, when comparing refined touches, the Ascent
wins handily. The Ascent expertly blends premium wood trim and leather
upholstery and exhibits complementary hues of brown, black, and beige. The
Pilot's interior, while organized, clean, and competent overall, its appearance
is uninspired with over-done black colorways, and rubberized plastic
surface.
Features
Both Ascent and the Honda Pilot include a full
suite of advanced driver-assistance technologies as standard equipment on all
trims. However, the Ascent includes features like Apple CarPlay and Android
Auto smartphone integration, tri-zone automatic climate control, and roof rails
on the base trim. You have to pay extra to get these on the Pilot.
